TREE PLANTATION |
|

|
|
|
Cantt. Board, Ranikhet maintains Reserved Forest on 2528 acres & other forest type on 920 acres. Besides this forests also covers a military area of 676 acres. The density of Cantt. Forest is 0.5 which is the best in Kumaon Division. |

|
|
A total number of 11000 saplings of various species were planted out of which only 87% survived. |

MARKETS |

| |
The Board traditionally maintains 202 shops but besides this Board has also developed 8 meat, chicken and fish shops and maintains 2 vegetable markets having 16 stalls. |

FIRE FIGHTING |

|
|
State Government has established a full-fledged Fire Station at Kumpoor Bazar, Ranikhet. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The incidence of forest fire was checked by temporarily employing fire watchers on daily wages. Moreover, the Board’s own Forest Ranger, Deputy Ranger, Foresters and Forest Guards also assisted them in the task and provided required guidelines. |

1442 births and 108 deaths are registered during the year. |

GENERAL |

|
| |
The General Administration of the Cantonment Board was satisfactory and audit of Board’s office for the period October 2007 to September 2008 was also completed satisfactorily. |
|

| |
Regular drives were launched to regulate traffic in the city and to remove of encroachments. Special care was taken to addressed public grievances at the earliest possible time. |
|

| |
The scheme of S.A.I is successfully maintained during the year. |
