Ranikhet Cantonment is a world famous tourist place. There is one main road known as “Khairna Almora road,” crossing in Cantonment from Ganiadeoli upto Kalika through the main Sadar Bazaar & is being maintained by PWD Deptt. There were only 2 parking places in Ranikhet for Roadways buses and KMOU buses near KMOU Station & Roadways Station. Due to no proper parking places for private taxis & private cars, the owners of the taxis and cars were in the habit to park their vehicles on/adjacent the main Sadar Bazaar road had to face great difficulty in the proper traffic management. Keeping in view the uncontrolled traffic management, the Board has developed the following areas as parking places:- on the western side of Railway Holiday home, on the southern side of Khairna-Almora road near KMOU Station, below Veterinary Hospital, below Aashiyana park, near Cantt. office at Chaubattia road, below Gandhi Chowk. |

Besides this a number of suitable places adjacent to main road have been earmarked by the Board as parking places for parking the private four wheelers and two wheelers. |

ENTERTAINMENT HALL |

No doubt Ranikhet is the most attractive and living tourist place for Indian and Foreigners. Surprisingly, there was no such place were tourist/visitor can enjoy evening entertainment. Old days of no scope of evening entertainment has now gone.
Now Cantt. Board is developing a complete entertainment complex near Nainital Bank and above Sadar Bazaar. |

The Board has developed a tiraha at the junction of Jalali Masi road and Khairna Almora main road as Jai Bharat Sthal R.C.C. map of India (15' in height) has been casted at the site facing towards the entrance from Kathgodam as well as Jalali Masi road.
R.C.C. statues of a farmer & Army men convey the message of former Prime Minister late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri i.e. Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan. Proper sitting arrangement has been made at the site for the visitors and passers-by. |
