QUALITATIVE EDUCATION AND COMPUTER EDUCATION |

There was no computer education in Cantt. Board schools of Ranikhet. Now computer-education is provided through the APTECH on self payment basis. Teacher-parents meeting was called on and all the parents have agreed to bear the payments and accordingly the Board has approved Rs. 25/- (for the class 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th ) & Rs. 35/-( for class 9th & 10th) per month.
The APTECH has established 10 computers in the Cantt. Board Primary, Junior and High School, Sadar Bazaar (All these schools are in one campus). |

APTECH has deputed three experts from their pool. In this way there is no financial burden on Cantt. Board. During the year class IV is also included in the Computer Education. |

Cantt. Board has already upgraded one Junior High School to High School and third batch of this school was appeared in the Board examination in the year 2005-06. The percentage of successful students are 71% whereas the percentage of whole Uttaranchal is only 51%. |

The Board has provided so many sports and games facilities to the students. A proper play ground is added in the School having facility of football, volley ball, badminton, Cricket etc. Moreover, the Board has ensured qualitative education to the students of Cantt. Board schools by facilitating all the requirements of the schools including computer education, vocational education etc. |

RENOVATION OF
PUBLIC LATRINES |

The Board is maintaining approx. 55 group latrines. During the year most of them became unserviceable. During the year 2003-04 & 2004-05 total 5 of them were repaired and now during the year 2005-06 total 4 group latrines which were almost in ruined condition are renovated. |

Cantt. Board has developed so many round abouts at the junctions. Antique and attractive benches/ chairs of cast iron have been provided at approx. 100 places in the Cantonment for the convenience of the tourists as well as by-passers.
New sign Boards, hoardings, signage posting, traffic indicator etc. are furnished across the Cantonment. All these are giving a new look to the Cantonment. It is funded by Ministry of Tourism. |

WALKING ROUTE/ROAD |

There was a historic walking road in the Cantonment going through the dense forest during the British period. Its length is 7 kms starting from Jhooladevi Temple to Cantt. Board Office.
As since beginning it was a famous walking route so many important dignitaries including Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, Smt. Indira Gandhi used to walk on this road during their Ranikhet visit. |

Since last 40 years the route was almost in abandoned state. Taking into the historical importance of the road it is constructed/renovated completely and now it is again a popular walking route for the visitors as well as local residents. |

Now tourist can have better time at Ranikhet full of enjoyment and entertainment. Really visitors will remember their living at Ranikhet. The Ministry of Tourism funds it. |
