| |
The Cantonment Board has it’s own play ground known as NCC play ground. Long ago there was a sloppy hillock at the site and the same was developed/leveled by the NCC cadets and then mainly by Cantt. Board. After the valuable efforts of NCC cadets the site came up into a shape of ground.
Thus, this ground is known as NCC ground. At present the said ground is inadequate for the use as play ground/organizing sports competitions. There is no other play ground for the active use of the public of Ranikhet as well as the surrounding area for sports activities. Hence the Board is proposing to construct a proper and attractive stadium. In this regard a proposal of Rs. 85.77 lakh is already submitted to the Dte. DE. After the completion of the project the same will be a full fledged stadium in Ranikhet having a sitting capacity of 1000 persons. |

INDEPENDENT WATER SUPPLY SCHEME |

The Board has to develop independent water supply system of Cantt. Board Ranikhet so that it may be free from the MES. In this regard a proposal of Rs. 58.00 lakh is sanctioned by the Govt. as Special Grant-in-aid. The project will be completed during the financial year. The project contains following works: - |

CONSTRUCTION OF
MULTIPURPOSE HALL |

|
|
| |
The construction of a multipurpose Community Hall is in progress. There is no such hall in this town. Total estimated cost is approx. Rs. 70.00 lakh which is allotted by the Ministry of Tourism. |

CONSTRUCTION OF SHOPPING
COMPLEX ON SELF FINANCE BASIS |

| |
It is proposed on vacant Class ‘C’ land, which is prone to encroachment. Famous Architect from Delhi is prepared the proposed design, drawing and estimating. The total estimated cost of the project is approx. Rs. 43.00 lakh. The proposal is submitted to the Principal Director, DE, Hqrs, Central Command Lucknow. It is proposed to construct 30 numbers of shops having small size of 6’X8’ and bigger size of 13’X 25’. After completion of the project the Board will get a net income around Rs. 12.00 lakhs per annum from rent. |

THE CONSTRUCTION OF 20 SHOPS ON
SELF FINANCE BASIS |

In this regard two proposals of Rs. 12.00 lakhs are pending at Directorate, DE, Hqrs, Central Command, Lucknow. If the sanction is accorded for construction of shops (Class-‘C’ land) the work will be completed during the financial year. Cantt. Board will get a net income around Rs. 4.00 lakhs per annum as rent. |

CHECK-DAMS |

As Ranikhet Cantt is located at an average height between 5500 ft. to 7300 ft. It is facing a lot of problems in drinking water due to no natural lake/reservoir. There is no infrastructure/ provision for harvesting the ground water. So the Board is planning to construct approx. 6 of check-dams of different sizes at different sites of Cantt. forest between two hillocks. The estimated cost of the project is approx. Rs. 43.00 lakhs. In this regard a self contained proposal is already submitted to the Dte. DE for allotment of Special grant-in-aid. |

SEWERAGE LINE |

Presently there is no severage line in Ranikhet Cantt. for which it is facing severe sanitary problems being a typical hill station. As it is a tourist place of international fame Cantt. Board is in bad name for not providing sewerage system in the Cantt. In this regard a proposal of Rs. 800.00 lakh is submitted to the Govt. of Uttaranchal. |

Cantt. Board is also preparing a project of mini sewerage line for which a self contained proposal of approx. Rs. 60.00 lakh is being submitted to the Govt. for allotment of Special grant-in-aid. |

HARIJAN QUARTERS |

Cantt. Board, Ranikihet has not sufficient quarters for safaiwala/Class IV. So it is proposed to construct 8 quarters for safaiwala/Class IV. In this regard a self contained proposal will be submitted to the Govt. for allotment of Special grant-in-aid. |
