1. Cleaning of roads and streets: 
  (All the week days except Wednesday & Sunday.) 
 
 
 
Summers
:
7 am to 11am.
2 pm to 6 pm.
Winters
:
8 am to 11 am.
1 pm to 5 pm.  
  On Wednesday & Sunday only in  the morning.
 
  2. Collection and removal of garbage from Cantt Board rubbish bins :  
      (Everyday between 7am & 2pm ).   
 
3. Collection/removal of garbage on receipt of complaint of nonlifting :                
 
(Complaints can be lodged at  20228 Cantt. Office and the same will be attended to within 5 Hrs).

The Cantt is divided into 7 beats, each under the charge of a Safai Jamadar under whom Safai Karamcharis and Safai Mazdoors work.  The Safai Jamadars & the staff working under them are further supervised by two Sanitary Inspectors in the areas allocated to them.
 
 
The citizens are responsible for disposal of garbage & waste generated by them into the nearest public receptacles/dustbins.
 
 
As per the section 130A of the Cantonment Act, it shall be the duty of an occupier of a building or land—
 
 
(a)
To make adequate arrangements for the house scavenging of the building or land.
(b)
To provide receptacles of the type and in the manner prescribed by the Executive Officer for the collection therein of all filth, rubbish and other offensive matter from such building or land and to keep such receptacle in good condition and repair.
(c)
To cause all filth, rubbish and other offensive matter collected in receptacles and to be removed and deposited in the public receptacles, depots or  places provided or appointed under subsection (1) of section 132.
 
 
For the purpose of this section and section 131, “house scavenging” means the removal of filth, rubbish or other offensive matter from a privy, latrine, urinal, drain, cesspool or other common receptacle for such matter.

The section 118 of the Cantonments Act envisages protection of public safety and suppression of nuisances as follows (click for details).

Sections 150 to 170 of the Cantonments Act provides for measures for prevention of infectious or contagious diseases (click for details).
 
 
 
  HEALTH CARE  FACILITIES  
 
The Cantonment Board maintains a dispensary to treat outdoor patients (both employees & citizens) in it’s jurisdiction.  However for advanced treatment the patients may be referred to the Civil Hospital Ranikhet maintained by the State Government.

  BIRTH AND DEATH REGISTRATION  
 
The Executive Officer is the Registrar of Births and Deaths in the Cantonment Board Area.  Birth certificate can be obtained within the same day of application on payment of prescribed fee.  Death Certificate can be obtained free of cost.
 
     
  HOSPITALS AND DISPENSARIES    
 
The Board maintains a dispensary with only one doctor and other staff. During the year 11130 patients were treated.
